and cheaper than a cattery!
Cat’s don’t like change. If you asked your cat whether they would prefer to get bundled off into the unfamiliar and strange new surroundings of a cattery or whether they’d prefer just to stay at home, we think they’d give you a pretty clear answer.
So now you can keep up to date with the day to day antics of a cat sitter by following our daily Twitters…..
Are we the only cat sitters or cattery in Sheffield to be doing this???
I hope the cats continue to be entertaining and give me something to tweet about.
These are two of my favourite articles over the past week or so…..
Once again proving that although smaller than dogs cats are the cleverer species!
Check them out I’d love to know what you think….

In a few of my blog posts recently I have had a tendency to compare our home cat sitting service to the option of entrusting your pet to a cattery in Sheffield. Catteries are often the best option for people especially if you feel strange allowing someone into your home when you are away.
However when I’m caring for cats in their own environments it really does seem quite obvious that a home cat sitting service is definitely the best option for the cat. It’s lovely to see them at ease and playful, happily interacting with the toys that I take round. Even the timid ones will come round by the end of the holiday. Once they know you’re there to bring them food, water and kind attention it’s not long before you’ve made a new friend.
I do quite like the RSPCA’s website and the information they provide on caring for your cat, for me it just helped to back up what I’ve always thought.
Here’s the link if you want to have a look:

I particularly like the section about the environment that a cat should be kept in and the comparisons it makes to their close relations, the big cats in the wild!
It’s great to know that our home cat sitting service is helping to keep our feline friends happy and I quote:
“Cats are territorial animals and become very attached to places. They are naturally frightened of unfamiliar places and smells; they prefer to stay in their familiar home.”
It also talks about the importance of having space to run around, jump and climb. Familiar hiding places so they feel safe and interaction so that they don’t get bored. I’ve only ever used a cattery once myself and I know these needs weren’t met. Compared to the option of a cattery in Sheffield I’m sure we’re better equipped to meet these needs.
I do hope those Sheffield cattery users out there might think about giving our service a chance.
